I know I'm probably being a bit excessive with the spoiler warnings, but I know some people get really upset if they stumble across the least of spoilers, so better safe then sorry. Since I've given ample warning, I'm going full out with the details here.

This is Fuyuki, the big brother that Natsumi is pining over. I assume from the coloring of the cel that it comes from the flashback/dream sequence where Natsumi is running through the grass towards him. (Well, considering that this is Fuyuki it would have to be a flashback, wouldn't it? )

So why is Fuyuki in the Raphael section of my gallery? Well, Raphael is Fuyuki-- or rather he is the angel that the mortal boy Fuyuki became. I'm still uncertain about the details of his transformation-- did he die like everyone says he did and Natsumi saw his spirit become an angel? Or did he, like Noelle, seek to become an angel so when he grew wings and flew away everyone just assumed he had died? Anyone care to clear this up for me? Either way, in the anime it seems there is more then one way to become an angel. (You can be born one, you can seek to become one, heck, there's even an angel school out there!)

I think the animators did a good job of making Fuyuki look similiar yet different from Raphael. When I first saw a Fuyuki cel before I'd watched the entire series I wasn't certain if he was Raphael or not. I mean, he looks so gentle and innocent and everything! I definately prefer Raphael's new clothes however. Fuyuki also flies away with two wings while Raphael returns with just the one-- one of the biggest unsolved (and unmentioned! ) mysteries of the series, IMHO.

Anyway, I picked up this cel from Anime Shop Pocket, who had an entire slew of Fuyuki cels at the time. (I wish I'd picked up more, now; especially a cel of Fuyuki holding Natsumi's hands.) After careful consideration I decided to enter the lottery for this cel and I actually won it! And it was the only Fuyuki cel that I had tried for at the time! I also tried out for a few other items but the only other thing I managed to pick up was 1400 yen cel of an unknown pretty guy which I only wanted so I could qualify for the freebie cel lottery. (I ended up with an Evangelion shitajiki for my troubles. )

You have to understand that I was right at the end of my year long dry spell for Tenshi ni Narumon cels. I'd ordered my close-eyed Sara around the same time, but that was it for an entire year of trying to pick up TnN cels. That I managed to win a lottery for my favorite Fuyuki cel was... He was only 3000 yen too, quite a steal.

Unfortunately, while he was one of the first Tenshi cels I managed to order he was one of the last to show up four months later! Ah well...
