If you're daffy and you know it, clap your hands!

Wouldn't you be smiling too, if Raphael was in your bed?

Well, since I had so many extra eyeball cels I decided to get an eyeless cel to make up for it! Actually I'd seen another cel from this same sequence for 5000 yen in the early days of Tenshi ni Narumon collecting and I regretted not buying it then. (At the time I thought 5000 yen was too much for it; my how times change!) Mikael pulling the yakiimo cart was the only Mika cel of mine when I had the chance to pick this up, so I leapt upon the opportunity.

Aethel had managed to contact a Japanese dealer (not certain who) and worked out a deal for some Tenshi ni Narumon cels. She asked if anyone on the Animanga Cels Message Board would like to join in-- and well, as you can see, she had a few takers. This cel was $50 (I can't remember if that included shipping or not) and there were a few other cels of Raphael & Mikael from the exercise scene and one cel of Mika hanging upside down from a tree as he talked to Noelle. (Hmm, angels seem to be part bat in this universe. )

The cel comes from episode 23, A Breaking Heart. This is my first of three cels I have from this scene (and two of my dream cels are also from this scene-- can you tell I really like it? ) This is a very pivotal moment from near the end of the series, so we're going to go skulking back into the shadows now. SPOILERS AHEAD.

Noelle has gone to seek council from Mikael and Raphael after her entire family has broken up and gone their seperate ways. (All singlehandedly caused by Mikael, incidentally. Damn, boy, when you're bad, you're bad!)

I'm never going to live this down, am I? Well, I-- eh heh-- believe that when you set out to do something you should give your whole heart to it! Eh heh heh... *sweatdrops & laughs with hand behind head*

Nope, not a chance. When *Noelle* is saner then you... Unfortunately when Mikael sets his mind to something, he sometimes leaves it behind...

Uh, Raphael, I wouldn't taunt the crazy person if I were you. *smiles sweetly as Mikael favors both her & Raph with a glare*

Mikael has nearly convinced Noelle to put her halo back on when she remembers that her halo nearly blew Yuusuke all the way to Kansas-- don't ask, just watch the series!-- so she freaks out and throws the halo away. (Nearly decapitating Mikael in the process.

Well, when in Rome... ^^; Yeah, that's just a barrel of laughs.

Mikael follows Noelle outside and it begins to rain. I'll go into deeper detail in the other two cels, but suffice it to say Mikael completes his slide into who-needs-to-be-sane?-land that began when Raphael was singing his "I don't want to be an angel" song. (I say that is the point when Mikael begins slipping since a few episodes earlier he was saying how becoming an angel was Noelle's choice and how they just had to watch over her and then suddenly he's changing his tune to sometimes it's necessary to use force. I guess being so close to his goal unhinged him. Just slightly. Or, then again, maybe it was Raphael's singing. )

If you can't beat them... Raphael-sama, the ultimate weapon! Hey! *gets tickled by Raphael's pinion feathers">

Anyway, poor reserved sweet Mikael is completely furious, so over-wrought with emotion that he's shaking. And after Raphael shows off the new trinket he found and Mikael does his impression of a rock star (remember, more details with the other cels), Raphael says "And for that, you're willing to become a demon." (my SOUL for a cel of Raphael when he says that!!!!! *ahem*) And Mikael just smiles. A completely creepy, I-am-so-not-sane-anymore smile, the first in the sequence which is mine. Woo hoo! *shakes head* Why am I so amused when the sweet & nice ones finally snap and start running amok? *whistles innocently*

The cel is A-1(Mikael's face) and B-1(Mikael's mouth) stapled together. The cel is really heavy, just covered with paint. (I've noticed with quite a few TnN cels that the paint doesn't cover the tracing lines. Not the case with this cel.) I particularly like how we're not sure if the drop running down Mikael's cheek is rain or a tear. (It stands out much more on the cel then in the screengrab.)

Someone forgot to take their medication today...

Included were the two matching sketches to the layers and an empty genga sheet. The mouth sketch has been cropped to save space.

I don't need no stinkin' eyes or mouth!

It's the Twizzlers mascot!

And they ran squealing 'whee! whee! whee!' all the way home!
