*pats Mikael on the head* I actually wanted a cel from the sequence right before it, when the camera is panned back a bit so that we can see his outfit, the straw hat and the towel wrapped around his neck, in all its full glory-- but I've quite learned my lesson about being obsessively nitpickly. Besides, his eyes are quite lovely in this.

This comes from episode 24, That Which is Waiting on the Other Side of the Door. It's actually Yuusuke flashing back to earlier in the day when Mikael was skulking around outside. This takes place during Baba's origin story concerning Noelle and-- we have spoiler warning! 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...

And I mean major spoilers this time.

I have to wonder about that original angel soul in Baba's story. I mean in the end all the pieces of that angel egg were cracked-- both literally and figuratively! Even poor Mikael... So, was it the separation that made all the parts so mentally unstable or was the original soul just not the epitome of sanity from the beginning? Perhaps an even bigger question would be what the heck kind of creature would have evolved from the amalgamation of Noelle, Mikael, and Silky? I could see something exquisitively beautiful-- something with the purity of Noelle, the intelligence of Mikael, and the power of Silky. Or perhaps, more probably, something that had the intelligence of Noelle, the stability of Mikael, and the personality of Silky. Let us wait for the full realization of what such a creature would be to dawn on us-- and now, let's never think about that again. *shudders*

Anyway, back to the cel. Yuusuke has futilely been tracking down the members of the family and trying to convince them to come back. Finally, from Baba he gets the full story surrounding Noelle's origins-- and it dawns upon him that Mikael might just be one of her other selves. And we have some lovely suspense music as the camera pans closer unto Mikael in his hoe-down clothes.

Oh, you know we all love ya, Mika; even when you're crazy. In fact, Mikael looks really pretty and evil in this cel, which is quite different from other cels of him at the end of the series when he looks loopy & evil. Hmm, and it has just dawned on me that Mikael is insane in the bulk of my solo shots of him...

*sigh*

Anyway, this cel is A-3 and was sniped off of eBay for $35. eBay has been surprisingly good for me pricewise when it comes to Tenshi ni Narumon cels. (And now that I have just jinxed myself...) This is definately another paint heavy cel.
