Another one of those types of cels that I just had to have when I saw it uploaded to Hobby Shop K for a cheap price. I've wanted a cel of Makoto in this beautiful rose dress(wow, what a design!

) for awhile now. I'd even been considering a lil cel of Makoto & Usagi that was $75 at Anime Pavilion-- but this one is much better! Makoto and Ami are dancing!

And it's even from the big lift scene!

All that aside, this comes from the SS episode 147, Ummei no Partner? Makoto no Junjou-- A Destined Partner? Makoto's Pure Heart. The girls are at a college festival, but no one is dancing with Makoto supposedly because she's too tall. (Those must be really short college guys! ) So Ami asks Makoto to dance-- and boy do they dance! I'm really glad Makoto was drawn so lovely here since this is her dream mirror episode while her heart crystal episode in the S season was animated rather poorly.

I have the B-49 layer and as you can see from the screengrab below, the A-layer is comprised of a crowd of dancers standing around and gawking-- err... admiring... Makoto's and Ami's dance moves. I just love this cel. Look at that smile on Ami's face!

And once again the colors in the scan are way off. Some are too dark and some are way too screaming bright. (Like Ami's dress. )

The cel came with a matching sketch. You can really see how lovely and detailed Makoto's dress is in the douga. One day I'll have to pick up a closer shot of Makoto in this dress. I've only seen one close-up of Makoto from this episode though and it was only a neck-up shot that didn't show the dress at all, alas. It really show-cased her just-as-gorgeous choker, though. I wish there was this detail in the Sailor Moon cast's clothing all the time.
